Washington DC looks magical during the cherry blossom season! The cherry blooms created a dreamlike canopy that frame each photo. This makes for a stunning backdrop. Radhika and Tyler chose this enchanting setting for their spring engagement session. Radhika wanted to capture the magical look of the Spring cherry blossoms in their engagement session.

The cherry blossom lined paths around the Tidal Basin provide so many opportunities for romantic portraits. The couple loved how the branches created natural archways for each photo! We were so fortunate to schedule this session at peak bloom. The cherry blossoms looked gorgeous!

My favorite thing about sunrise cherry blossom sessions is the warm golden glow that is created by the sun hitting the soft pink blossoms. My couples and I love the look of the early morning light filtering through the cherry blossoms. It diffuses the light perfectly and creates an ethereal atmosphere that seems designed for romantic photos.

The Martin Luther King, Jr. Memorial’s Cherry Blossoms

An overlooked spot for engagement photos is at the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial. This location has beautiful cherry blossoms. The pink blossoms contrast against the grey granite in this area.

This particular area also tends to be less crowded than Tidal Basin's main pathway. Visitors often stay close to the water or at the central statue of Martin Luther King Jr. This area gave us some freedom from the large crowds.
