Old Town Alexandria Engagement Session | Spring Cherry Blossoms Engagement
Old Town Alexandria is a historic town that is frozen in time with Colonial, Georgian, Victorian and Italianate architecture. The historic streets and architecture come alive during cherry blossom season. Maria had a very specific vision for their engagement session. She is a dog Mom and wanted to capture her family. And she wanted the fairytale look of cherry blossoms combined with the historic richness of Old Town Alexandria. I think this was one of the most beautiful days in Spring we had in the year! The warm sunny glow and the blossoms were breath taking. This fusion created a magical setting for their engagement photos.
We began our session along Queen Street and N. Fairfax Street, where the pink cherry blossoms frame the historic red brick buildings. The couple's playful pup added an extra layer of joy to every shot!

Built in 1753, this Georgian mansion has meticulous gardens that blend perfectly with the colonial architecture. The stone house creates an elegant and timeless setting. It is quintessentially Old Town Alexandria.
We had a blast touring around Old Town Alexandria and seeing historic buildings like the Carlyle house! The grand entrance of Carlyle House features a symmetrical design. This allowed us to capture some classic portraits. The couple's dog loved this spot and was right at home at the stately manor.

Captain’s Row and the Streets of Old Town Alexandria
Captain's Row is located at the intersection of Prince Street 100 and S Union Street 200. It stands as one of the most photographed locations in Old Town Alexandria. The street features round Belgian cobblestones that were laid in the late 1700s. They have witnessed centuries of history. These historic stones created a beautiful backdrop for portraits!
Nearby Captain’s Row are neighborhoods that feature historic Federal-style townhouses. These historic homes create a stunning backdrop with their rich brick and detailed moldings! The cherry blossom petals danced across the cobblestones and brick. We love how these photos have a softness in the rugged historic setting!
